I can't remember when was it that I fell in love with bread. But I can remember when I fell in love with bread-making. The satisfaction of eating the bread you made with your own hands is so great I can't put it in words. And of course, every batch that comes out are so different that it's just pure joy anticipating how it looks like when it comes out fresh from the oven.
My first loaf! I think I baked it on the day I got my BM.
My second attempt. This was really bad. I finished as much as I could but had to dump the rest. Don't ever add salted nuts when you're making bread. The saltiness of the nuts will kill the whole taste.
This was made from soymilk, so it turned out really fluffy and good! And it's one of the most presentable batch I've made so far (:
This was made just a 2 weeks ago, after I came back Singapore. It looks deceivingly dry but it's not. It stayed soft for the following few days.
Cheese buns! It smelled exactly like the ones my mum used to buy from bakeries. I never knew they were so easy to make! Yummy crusty cheese.
And today's batch....
Show you something cute (freaky?):
Haha. As I said, bread-making is really a joy. You never know what you're gonna get. Yes, I meant for it to be a face, but when I did it initially it turned out like just a lump of ball and three raisins. But after it rose abit, a mouth was made.
Today's batch! Tried making floss and raisin buns.
Breadmaking's REALLY addictive and therapeutic, somewhat. Recently, I've been baking every once a week. [But it's really not good for my diet.] It'll be awesome if I could work in a bakery and get to learn more about bread. I've always said I want to open a bakery but that'll cost too much money and I don't think my HB-ed breads deserve a pricetag yet. So my next alternative dream is to bake bread and cakes and whatsoever bakable for my family next time! The blog that I always go to get my recipes is by this stayhome mum-cum-baker, and she's always baking the most creative and yummiest things for her kids. I think any kid would love it if their houses smelled of freshly-baked flour eggs butter and sugar put together. I know I would.
Weather turned chilly all of a sudden three days ago. My body's still adjusting to the changing season. Caught a flu yesterday, felt abit feverish. My fever's gone now I think but my body's still aching a little. Got some work done today at least (though the bulk of the time was spent indulging in drama ><)
*Excited for December!!*
Quote of the day: "...if we don't have it, [it's because] we don't need it."
