GE

I just finished watching this video. They are too cute teehee. I'm addicted to their vids! Haha. In case you don't know them, here's some bg info: twins, roots from Korea but brought up in Aussie, really interesting accent, is fluent in English and Korean, awesome vocals and talents, passionate about music and Christ, pretty! Go watch their videos, you'll know what I'm talking about. See, I'm not biased. When I see people (regardless of gender) that I think are cute, I'll praise them to the skies. So don't ever say I only go gaga over guys. I'm fair like that :P

So I'm bumming in front of the computer, exhausted from all the travelling. Just came back this morning and I've already done my laundry, gone grocery-shopping and unpacked my luggage. Efficient or not?? Haha. So give me a moment to catch my breath. I can't not admit that I really feel old.

Anyway, I'll let the pictures do the talking.

The terrifying roller coaster. The drop looks gentle but I tell you it's not. Any kinds of roller coasters are okay to me except for steep drops (which is the very reason for why people like them). I cannot take plunges like that. My heart cannot tahan.

Oh this was another ride that went unexpectedly high. And is one of the only few rides which I find scarier on the second ride than the first HAHA. There is a inconsistency in the seats (two of them look like they're going to bang into each other) because the machine actually swings you in and out all of a sudden. But the con was that it left me dizzy and abit nauseous at the end of it.

And I went tea-leaves picking too!

Hurh, it was pretty fun. But I'm such an inefficient worker. Or I should say I'm too careful a worker. I think we were supposed to pick the leaves indiscriminately but I ended up picking my leaves carefully so I didn't get much ): I was second-bottom I think. Asuka had the least cos she said she's not a tea-person, and she wouldn't know what to do with so much tea leaves anyway hahaha.

This is tororo - grated yam. It's really sticky and you put it over your rice. Yummy :9 but apparently it's not something that everyone likes. Like Natto, maybe. Am I too Japanized or am I just too much of a rubbish bin? I seem to be able to eat almost anything and everything.

We were staying in a hotel booked by my Japanese host mother because she said her house was too messy for both of us to stay haha. Apparently work has been super busy that she hasn't had time to clean the house up lol.

And then on the last night we drove to Shizuoka and stayed over at Asuka's apartment! Her apartment's really lovely. I wish I could have such a nice one next year. I'm already thinking of ideas of how to decorate my room.

The breakfast she cooked for us!! The sweet potato was SO good.

So now it's back to reality. Homework awaits aghh. Sian ah.

And Polling Day is this Saturday! Too bad I can't take advantage of my voting rights now that I'm officially allowed to vote cos I registered too late. ): But it's a good thing I suppose. The biggest reason I don't want to vote is simply because I haven't been following the news =x I've never been one to follow election news or political news, no matter which country I'm in. It's too much of a chore =x But I'm not politically empathetic! ...Or at least I hope not. I still care about who's running the country and all.

And I was reading XX's blog and she wrote a whole chunk about PAP vs opposition. Well I have to agree with alot of what she said. For people who always want change, it's a good thing. But to criticise the current goverment and point out nothing but their bad points is going too much off the mark. If you're able to stand here today, with a fairly stable income and a roof over your heads, and most importantly even have the time and intelligence and the ability to criticise the government, who do you think you owe them to? If we've been living in a corrupted country, do you think we're able to achieve No. 1 in so many aspects in the world? Think about how small Singapore is. For its name to even spread far and wide says something about our government. For us to be on the rankings with other mega countries says even more about their capabilities.

Yes I seriously do think that Singaporeans really have to stop being too pragmatic and start being thankful for the things we have in our lives, instead of always wishing that we had more and better. So lots of people think that we have a despotic government. That our government is nothing but just a family business. Hello, if the next generation has what it takes then what's wrong with passing the duty on the them? It's not like it's a case of where the capable father has no choice but to hand over his business to his useless and good-for-nothing son. Both Lees have shown how capable they are of running the country. So Singaporeans especially have to stop going around telling other people that our country is run by the Lee clan. It is theoretically true, but the nuance behind that sentence is so misguided and misunderstood.

And my mom once said that during election period, everyone's talking about how they want change and they wish that the opposition will win so that there can be a change in the Singapore government. But, the main thing is that: they wish for the opposition to win in any constituency but their own. Ha ironic or not? Talk so much but end up voting for PAP because they are afraid of negative changes which will affect them. What does this mean? To a certain(great) extent, Singaporeans are still aware that PAP has been and is the one giving them the life that they are satiated with.

No I'm not asking Singaporeans to always vote for the same party election after election; I think having good opposition is very important too, to give PAP a run for their money and to help them improve. It's a fact of life that when you have a worthy opponent, you'll work doubly hard to be even better. But voting for the opposition just to show your lackof support for the PAP is just stupid. It's like saying, oh I'm buying the Android just because I hate the iPhone. It doesn't make any sense.

One thing that I agree with XX 100% is about how much MM Lee has done for Singapore. Even with the recent death of his beloved wife he's still going strong at 88 and still aspires to do things for the country. Hey, just stop and think about it for awhile okay: he has been developing and contributing and essentially raising Singapore up for more than 40 years, ever since our dark Msia period. What gives you the right to say that he doesn't deserve doing all he can to prevent the opposition from taking Singapore away from him? Singapore is his life, he's been running it for almost his whole life. Of course he's going to be possessive about handing it over to a bunch of people who might not know Singapore inside out the way he does?? Just think of handing your kid over to someone else after you've been taking care of him for more than 30 years. Tell me you'll have no resistance at all?

I just hope Singaporeans will think carefully before voting.

Ah I'm really tired now.
